Healthy Diet Plans | A Holistic Approach to Transforming Your Body and Mind

There are a MILLION healthy diet plans around these days. So many people saying so many different things that it gets really confusing. But the fact is: nutrition is simple.

Take the word ‘nutrition’. ‘Nut’ means ‘light’ and ‘rition’ means ‘process’.

So nutrition is a processing of light. The closer we can get to light – that force that makes plants grow – the better nutritional resources we will find.

Preparation is Key

Whatever form of nutrition you choose, make sure you really prepare your body for food. Smell it (this activates saliva provides enzymes to break down that specific food), be in good company, give thanks for the food (this is why some people say a ‘blessing’ before they eat) and be in an emotionally positive state.

Chewing and actually loving every bite is so underrated these days. Food is meant to be an orgasmic experience!

If you have lost all enjoyment for food and lost your appetite, it’s a sign that a fast is needed – even if it’s just skipping 1-2 meals. Then that satisfaction will return. Let your taste buds be the judge!

It's All About Flavour

Many people think foods that are healthy and good for you taste bad.

FORGET THAT!!!

I only eat foods that taste amazing and that’s the way nutrition was designed to come into our bodies. Not in the form of lifeless pills, supplements and boring bland food.

The highest form of nutrition (foods that hold the most light) is in fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, grains and all kinds of plant matter. These are the kinds of things you want to get more of into your diet.

Honestly, avocado, steamed veggies, salads, mangoes, papayas and bananas all taste incredible when prepared properly and are very satiating. It is just a matter of finding ways of incorporating them into your lifestyle. You might have to force it to begin with – fake it ’til you make it!

If you look to nature, in particular animals, especially those with the same physiology as us (did you know the first heart transplant was from an ape to a human, and it worked!) it will tell you something about what our diet and lifestyle should really look like.

Apes eat a diet of about 50% fruit and 50% greens, veggies, nuts, seeds and some roots. So get those fruits in and stop listening to the hype about too much sugar. Fresh fruit has a massive amount of antioxidants, fibre for movement (life is movement), vitamins, enzymes and provides incredible hydration for the body allowing it to work optimally.

If you have candida or other issues it’s not from eating too much fruit! It’s from the years of too much animal and concentrated fats that clog the system, so fructose and glucose are not able to be transported properly. Candida and other organisms then have to come in to clean it all up.

Eat beautiful salads with interesting toppings – capsicum, avocado, tomato, sprouts and other things like nuts and seeds that make your meals real flavour bombs!

Have lightly steamed veggies and soups with lentils or beans for your protein. If you think of the percentage of protein in breast milk (which is when a human grows the most) then beans, lentils and all veggies, for that matter, and even fruit have more protein percentage-wise than breast milk!

SO STOP WORRYING ABOUT PROTEIN!

The truth is that most people get too much protein which leads to tiredness and sickness in general. Hospitals are not full of people with protein deficiency!

Plan For Success

Create a plan for yourself and declare, “I am going to be healthy!”

Plan your day and your week out. Eventually you will get to a place where eating well will be easy and natural but in the beginning you might need to be a bit more strategic.

Something like – “I will get up at ___ o’clock. Then I am going to drink a litre of water first thing. After that I am going to take a walk/exercise. For breakfast I am going to have ___ at ___ o’clock. Lunch will be ___ at ___ o’clock and I am going to have ___ for dinner at ___ time”.

If you don’t make a plan then what might happen is you will end up getting really hungry and make bad food choices.

For me, my daily plan looks like fresh fruit or a smoothie first for break-fast at noon because I practice intermittent fasting every day. If I’m really hungry and I don’t feel like eating fruits, I might have raw oats. I’ll top that with some sesame seeds or some poppy seeds or some sprouted grains. Sprouted barely is my absolute favourite! Then add some honey. If you don’t want honey you could add some coconut sugar.

For lunch I’ll have a massive salad with tempeh and an amazing dressing… substantial enough that it will probably carry me right through to dinner, but it’s still light and full of life force. Then for dinner I might have something warm – maybe a soup or steamed veggies. I like to have dinner fairly early so my body has time to digest that food before I go to bed so I can have a really good restful night’s sleep.

Look for what foods are in season and eat those. Eat more cooked soups or steamed veggies or potatoes and dried fruit in the winter (like long-lived cultures around the world) and then mainly fresh raw fruits, greens and veggies in the summer months.

Get a good variety of nutrients by eating the rainbow! Look for foods in a variety of colours – red, orange, blue, purple, green and yellow. If you get all of that into your body you will start experiencing divine health, a level of energy and clarity unlike what you have felt before!

You will free up blockages in your body and you’ll feel so much better.

You will feel the life force.

Then you will have loads more energy so you can start exercising or strength training. The more you start to exercise and push yourself, the better you will feel. You will start to develop muscle mass and have a true sense of feeling healthy.

Health is Simple

Diet plans can be very confusing, but you and I know that health is very simple.

The problem is most people just don’t want to do it. They were raised to enjoy eating processed and artificial foods, additives and meats. They habitually do things which make them feel dense and tired and make them dread exercising.

A healthy diet plan is simple – fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, roots and sprouted grains. Put them together whatever way you can to make them taste good.

And as long as you are eating them fresh, you can eat as much as you want.

I know people who follow restrictive diet plans and I know people that eat as many fruits and vegetables as they want – the ones who eat fruits and vegetables don’t get sick nearly as often and bounce back much quicker. They have energy galore and lots of them even lose excess weight!

So just get on to it – create a plan for your health and start today!
