Healthy Foods to Lose Weight | Looking to Mother Nature

When it comes to healthy foods to lose weight you just need to look to nature.

Forget all the confusing diet plans, keep it simple. I promise you that if you simply go with what Mother Nature has to offer that you WILL lose weight.

Yes, it’s really that simple!

I’m going to outline a few little things here that you can do to maximise this process as well.

Lose the Fat to Lose the Weight

Firstly, I know when people say “weight loss” they mean “fat loss”, because nobody wants to lose muscle!

And the best way to lose fat is to stop eating fat. When we consume fats, our body puts that fat on.

I just want to differentiate that when we receive natural fats from whole foods such as chia seeds or avocado, these are essential fats for metabolism and don’t cause weight gain in the same way.

Eat Fresh and Get Energised to Exercise

The simple healthy diet I propose for weight loss is one that consists of fresh fruits, vegetables and salads. A fresh salad with a squeeze of lemon juice or balsamic vinegar rather than a high-fat dressing.

You can live really well on this kind of diet. In fact, I know some people who are fruitarians and have only eaten fruit for years.

You don’t need to do that of course, I’m saying to balance it out to 50% fruit and 50% greens and vegetables…that’s what I do.

When I eat this way I have so much energy for exercise and life in general. A common pitfall for people starting out on this diet is feeling tired. Generally, this means you are not eating enough! Yep, you heard right. You can actually eat MORE when you eat this way.

For most people, this way of eating has been a switch from low nutrient, high-calorie food to high nutrient, low-calorie food. So if you’re not feeling satiated, just eat more fruit! I promise you will still lose weight…just keep eating.

More apples, papaya, mango, watermelon and soon you’ll feel satisfied and satiated.

You will start to have more energy.

Your digestive system will begin really moving and within 5 to 7 days you’ll start to notice the weight coming off. I promise you that.

The Ultimate Way to Lose Weight

Now of course the fastest way to lose weight is to stop eating altogether.

Makes sense right? If you’re not eating, you’re going to lose weight because your body will burn calories in order to keep you going.

I’m a big proponent of fasting whether it be juice fasting or water fasting. I have facilitated large fasting events here in Bali. I currently run a couple live and virtual programs, Fast and H•E•A•L.

Even after 7 days you will lose quite a few kilos, get rid of parasites, and get rid of a whole lot of other stuff and gunk from your body.

I’m not saying it’s easy and often there are lots of emotional reasons behind eating. My programs support this with a variety of healers and therapists to help you work through the blocks that may have been contributing to your eating patterns.

The Real Key in Keeping the Weight Off

The real key is to think of all of this as a lifestyle change, not a diet.

You can’t do a fast and then go back to eating crap. People generally find once they start eating healthy, they begin to crave better food anyway. The higher level of nutrients and energy from the healthy food makes you feel too good to think about eating crap again!

It’s also important to note that it’s not just about the food, but incorporating ALL the 7 Principles of Health such as breathing properly, drinking enough clean water, exercising, getting out in the sun, finding your passion and having relationships that support and nourish you.
