Do you want your skin to feel tighter, lighter and brighter? By using just one simple ingredient? And using it only once a week? Yes? Well the answer is using a bentonite clay mask!
Recently I was getting ready to have some time lying out in the sun and I thought that I’d try using a bentonite clay mask all over my body to get my skin really clean first. It was kind of fun, and it worked better than I expected.
I already knew that bentonite clay had amazing properties for removing heavy metals, pesticides and other contaminants when used internally. So I thought why not try it out externally! The skin is the body’s largest eliminatory organ we have to detox, so this makes sense, right?
Like many of the ideas that I share, bentonite clay is actually part of an ancient and native health regime. Using clay to clean the body internally is a natural phenomenon. Many animals eat clay when they are sick to help remove any poisons or toxins that’s causing them to feel unwell. Several native cultures including those in North America, Andes, Central Africa and Australia would carry dried balls of clay around with them and consume it in various ways to prevent poisoning.
They were really on to something too! Studies have shown that bentonite clay is highly effective at killing MRSA (staph), as well as Salmonella and E.Coli amongst other things. Arizona State University has been involved in various studies trying to figure out the exact method in which the clay kills the infection. What’s exciting about that is that it may not be possible for the MRSA or other bacteria to develop a resistance to it (as it does with antibiotics).
Adding water activates bentonite clay. The clay has a negative charge and the toxins have a positive charge, so they attract each other. As the bentonite clay pulls out toxins from the cells it helps get oxygen in. It’s so perfect, it’s an absolute winner.
That’s why I use bentonite clay in my Colon Cleanse. As well as drawing out toxins it can also help gut bacteria if you take it correctly. And I’ve seen it help with digestive disturbances like acid reflux, constipation, bloating, gas, etc.
The ability to draw toxins out works equally well for all types of skin problems and also speeds up healing. I think part of this is because of the high concentration of minerals including silica, calcium, magnesium, sodium, iron, and potassium in the clay.
So back to my body mask! It was simple to make – I just mixed about 100 grams of the clay with less than a cup of water and stirred to make a kind of mud-like consistency. I recommend you use something wooden to mix it or your hands, DO NOT USE METAL.
I then rubbed that mixture all over my body and stood out in the sun until it dried. You can leave it on as long as you like, there won’t be any detrimental effects of having it on longer (no need to stress about setting a timer!)
So why not give it a go this weekend! Get out in the sun afterwards and smile!
