Impressive Health Benefits Of Pineapple | For Thyroid, Fighting Viruses & More

Pineapple has to be one of my favourite foods. Not only are they delicious, sweet and juicy, there are some amazing health benefits of pineapple too. How do I know? Well, to start, pineapples contain at least twelve of some very important vitamins and minerals that support our bodies. 

High in Iodine and Good for Thyroid Conditions

I always like starting off by seeing what part of the human body a food looks like (aka ‘Doctrine of Signatures‘). Most of you have probably never seen a thyroid, but I have and I tell you it looks just like a pineapple (bumps on the thyroid look like the bumps on the pineapple). Funnily enough, pineapples have high levels of iodine that are perfect for the health and daily function of your thyroid.

If you didn’t know, your thyroid is like the gas pedal for your body, if it’s low then you’re not going to be running very fast and if it’s high it’s like super octane all the time. The thyroid regulates body’s temperature and metabolism. Metabolism keeps us young and keeps the cells rejuvenating.

I’ve always loved the pentagons all over the pineapple, it represents a fortress to me. It’s kinda cool and I think it will actually protect us from radiation and many other things. Interesting fact: did you know just the colour yellow deflects radiation?

Super Effective Against Coughs and Colds

Pineapple’s are effective against viruses that cause coughs and colds, due to its high vitamin C content. Even when you are already infected with such ailment, pineapples can help you. It’s the bromelain pineapples contain, which is effective in suppressing coughs and loosening mucus.

Bromelain also works to neutralise fluids to ensure that they are not too acidic. It helps regulate the secretions in the pancreas to aid in digestion. And has protein-digesting properties, so it helps keep the digestive track healthy.

The potassium in pineapple juice can help you maintain the proper electrolyte balance to prevent muscle cramps and soreness. This mineral also promotes proper kidney function.

Strengthen Bones and Improve Arthritis

Eating pineapples can greatly alleviate the pain of arthritis while at the same time improve the condition by strengthening the bones. Apart from arthritis, it can also improve other similar conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome and gout.
